What Causes A Brown Stringy Substance In Stool During Pregnancy?
Hi, i just found out that i was pregnant not even two weeks ago and have made an appointment to see a doctor but have not gone. Today i went to the bathroom and there was this brown stringy thing in my stool. I ate some salty greasy Chinese food about an hour or so before. Could it have been my food or would it be a parasite?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, I understand your concern. The stringy brown thing in your stools may be- - undigested food string , which was consumed earlier. I do not see posseblity of food eaten one hour before, unless you have loose motions. - It might be clotted blood string from- - lower bowel, following constipation, bleeding due to stretch of anus. - A blood clot string from vagina coming out while passing stools. * this may be a single incidence. But if it repeates you have to be cautious. I would advice you to consult your doctor & get treated according to symptoms. Thanks.
