What Causes A Bruise On Upper Ab Near The Sternum?

I am 20 years old my height is 5 5 and my weight is 179 I had a check up done in november everything was normal.I have a bruise on my upper ab at the tip of the sternum bone is this ok? i have had the bruise for 3 weeks and i don't know how i got it.
