What Causes A Bruised Lump On The Wrist Of An Elderly Person?
My mother in law 95 years old. Appears to have a broken blood vessel in her wrists. Her forarm and wrist are purple and red. She has significant bump on her wrist. She thinks this may have occurred from carrying her purse. Her skin is very thin. We have iced it. What should we do

With advancing age skin elasticity decrease. So any injury can present with significant bruise. You can apply ice wrapped cloth over that. Over the counter anti inflammatory drug can be prescribed. She is advisable to take rest.
If no improvement then consult nearby doctor for examination and management accordingly.
