What Causes A Bulge On The Groin And Blood In Semen Post Hernia Surgery?
Hello last Nov. I had hernia surgery, right side lowest point of groin. In the recovery room I gently felt around the groin to see what had been done, I noticed a small bulge several inches above the hernia site. The bulge was sharp and poking above the skin but not through. This was my first laparoscopic surgery, so I did not question this oddity. The three small incisions that were made started at the belly button and directly below there. After three to four weeks the bulge started growing or expanding vertically up, with my follow up visit the doctor said it was a blockage of my sperm tube and appears to have blood clots building above it, at that point and time we decided to see if time would heal this new problem. After a recent cat scan and about eight months it has not improved in fact I now have blood in my semen. The doctor does not know what to do. Can you help

Surgery of any type minor or major can result in unwanted complications. The history you have given made me understand that your spermatic cord is damaged during the hernia surgery as this cord is present at hernia site. Such symptoms usually heals with the passage if time. So your doctor is waiting for it to heal. Avoid masturbation or intercourse. Use antibiotics (hopefully your doctor had already prescribed you). If you want me to say that go for another surgery i won't recommend it. Consult a good urologist too.
