What Causes A Bump And Discoloration Underneath The Eye Caused After Injury?

hi. my two year old love to through things. unfortunately for him, he tried to through a car and it hit the outer corner of his eye. I tried to put cold compresses but I have noticed that it feels like a little ball underneath the skin and it s becoming purple. should I take him to the emergency room?

I understand your concern.
It seems that he may have inadvertently hit his orbit ( bone around the eye).
Some swelling and discolouration due to inflammation and bruising is possible..
A fracture is unlikely, however if the swelling doesn't
reduce in a day or two, or he gets very irritable or cranky, it would be better to have him examined
Otherwise, the swelling and discouraging will take up to two weeks to get back to normal.
