What Causes A Bump Near Wrist After An Injury?

hi im 21 female i slipped in a shower and landed on my right elbow i went to the hospital and i have broken it but they have left me in a sling? Is this right? Im a chef and need to get back to work i cant have full use of my right arm as it feels weak and some pain persists. I also hurt my left wrist as i fell and for the couple of weeks it was swollen and in bad pain the hospital where more bothered over my right elbow and ignored my wrist so i thought there was nothing wrong with it but now after weeks the bone towards my thumb is a solid hard bump. What can i do and can i go back to work?
