What Causes A Chocking Sensation After Eating Meat?
There has been a couple of occasions over the last year where I have choking when eating meat. I though I was going to choke to death and any drink I used I just threw up again including in the end the meat.I can t always swallow apples that well as well and have to have a drink of water straight after.
The most common cause of choking sensation after eating is GERD, acid reflux. You are suggested to take antacids and PPIs, one SOS when needed. Take small bites and chew properly, Take small amount of food multiple times a day. Stay well hydrated. Take minced meat that is well cooked with gravy. Take liquid or semi solid food like oats, porridge, etc. Other medical conditions that can cause such symptoms are esophageal stricture, esophageal tumors, foreign bodies, etc.
You are suggested to get clinically examined by an ENT and get the required blood tests and investigations / imaging tests done to detect any pathology causing the discomfort so that treatment can be started at the earliest. In the meantime take food rich in vitamin E or supplements (Evion-400), one daily for 15 days for better lubrication.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
