What Causes A Chronic Coated Tongue?

I have taken diflucan for 2 1/2 years, but still have coated tongue and have eliminated much sugar and white flour from diet. Wondering if nystatin would help and if there is a Dr. in the midwest willing to prescribe. I am very aware of all natural supplements that kill yeast. I have taken and am still taking several.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain coating over the tongue does not always needs to be due to yeast infection known as oral thrush and it much more depends upon the colour and consistency of tongue coating..
In case if you have a cheesy white tongue coating it can probably be due to Thrush, while if you have a tongue coating that is yellowish white in appearance it can be due to poor oral hygiene leading to accumulation of debris over the tongue and bacterial accumulation..
I would therefore suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like Microscopic examination of scraping from the tongue can help in diagnosis..
In case of thrush antifungal mouthwash like Nystatin mouthwash and Clortimazole lozenges can help..
Taking more of probiotics like Yoghurt and garlic can help..
In case if it is not thrush hen cleaning the tongue with tongue scraper, gargle with1:! solution of hydrogen peroxide and water, chewing hard foods like apples, carrots etc and maintaining a good oral hygiene can help..
