What Causes A Cluster Of Tiny Red Pimples On The Cheeks That Do Not Have Any Pain?

Hello. My 17 year old niece has cluster of tiny red pimples(? not raised) about two and a half inches in diameter on her right cheek. They ve been there for months now. Her doctor thought it might be due to dry skin, but moisturizer hasn t helped. Over the counter acne meds have not helped. They don t itch or hurt, they re just there. I thought at first it might be due to her hair resting on her cheek, but why only one cheek and not the other? The rest of her face looks normal. What is this? She s going to Europe this summer with her classmates and would like to clear this up prior to trip. Thank you in advance. Linda

Hi,

It is a common problem in teenage called ACNE VULGARIS. It is due to hormonal hyperactivity. Repeated use of antiacne creams leads to dryness and peeling of the skin.

If you have the effective treatment and maintaining. Consult your dermatologist. He/ She can do, remove the pimples by come done extraction and Microdermabrasion.

It gives good and fast results. If you can choose topicals. Tretinoin 0.025%, (retinoid group ) apply on lesions daily night. Morning sunscreen with moisturizer for Acne prone skin ( Episoft AC from Glenmark) and oral Minocycline 45 mg or ISOTRETINOIN 10 mg daily one tab will give good relief. Hope this helps you.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
