What Causes A Crackling Noise In The Ear?

I recently developed a crackling sound in my right ear. It sounds like someone is unwrapping a cellophane wrapped candy. I have used a Q-tip recently as I have been getting water trapped in that ear when showering. Is it possible that I have compacted ear wax as a result? I do have some over the counter ear wax remover. Would that be helpful?

Hello,

Ear wax is a common cause of a cracking noise in the ear. I suggest to use the ear wax removal to relieve the symptoms. If the noise continue you should consult an ENT specialist for a physical examination.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
