What Causes A Crust Like Substance Inside The Right Ear?

I keep having this weird crust-like substance inside of my right ear. It feels like ear wax and it only appears inside of the ear (Where the outside of the ear flaps inward-- That's where it is.) and I keep picking at it and it only hurts each time. I have a feeling I shouldn't pick at it, but what could this be?

I have gone through your query rearding crust like substance in your ear, it hurts whenever you had tried to pick it out.

Probably it is ear wax which is quite dry,impacted and closely adherent to skin of external ear canal. To remove it you should put wax softener ear drop in your ear (2 to 3 drops 3 to 4 times per day for few days). In this way the impacted wax will get soft and comparitively free from skin of ear canal. Now one may remove wax free from pain.
