What Causes A Cut Below Placenta Risking Pregnancy ?
I am 6 weeks and 3 days pregnant and i was spotting yesterday. I went to the emergency room and the doctor told me the placenta attached itself to a cut that had formed blood over it and that i am at risk for miscarriage. So my question is can i go full term or i am just going to miscarry period. I am 28 years old heigt 5 4 and weigt 150. This is my second pregnancy and with last i had a c section i pushed for two hours before doctor decided on c section. On second day of recovery i stretched my arm and it felt like i pulled something or tore something on the inside. I have never had any miscarriages. My mom had to miscarriages and my sister had 3 of her four children early and with her last one she was on bed rest. My mom has kidney disease and on my dads side diabetes and cancer.
I do not agree with the emergency physician's explanation for your bleeding, but bleeding behind the placenta can go away by itself and the pregnancy can go to term. There is nothing that can be done to prevent a miscarriage, but as long as your fetus continues to have a heartbeat, it can continue to develop normally. So right now all you can do is wait and see, and have a repeat ultrasound a week or so after this one and see. If you pass heavy blood or tissue, it might be a miscarriage and you should see a doctor sooner. I hope this was helpful and best wishes.
