What Causes A Dark Brown Spot On The Palate Of An Infant?
My 4 month old sudden had a dark brown spot show up in the roof of his mouth. It is about the size of a dime. Does not cause any pain/discomfort. Saw his pediatric doctor today and she said she couldn t really explain what it was but that it looked like healthy tissue so not concerned right now. To watch and see doctor again if changes. Can you tell me more about what this could be and why it all the sudden oipped up? thanks!!! Not sure how to upload a picture but I have a good one to show.
As per your complain brown spot on the roof of mouth can be due to causes like melanin pigmentation while can also be due to some trauma caused by any toy or foods causing bruise. I would suggest you to consult a Pedodontist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation has to be done to rule out the cause and treatment can be done accordingly if needed. As of now you should relax as it needs not to be anything serious.
Hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards. Dr. Honey Arora
