I have what looks like a capillary leak right under the skin on the back of my hand....was working outside yesterday but don t know that I hit it.....very dark in appearance, dark red..not sore.....but not like a dark bruise. Happened once before a couple months ago after working in the garden.....I m told that as one ages the skin becomes thinner.....I m 79.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think you've been pricked by a thorn. I think should apply warm compresses to let the pus oozing out. Wash with warm water and soap.

Apply oxygenated water followed by betaine (antiseptic) for the first couple of days. If no improvement, you should consult further with your caring doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
