What Causes A Dark Spot On The Left Shoulder Blade?

I have a dark shadow vertically down my back right beside my left shoulder blade. I also have MAI and the left lung is partially collapsed (permanently). I had chemo and radiation a couple of years ago but it was in my hip area. What do you think this shadow color on my skin is? Itches but there is not difference in the texture of my skin there.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The dark spot near your left scapula seems to be a fungal infection.

Keep it dry. Avoid sweating. Have regular baths to remove sweat from the region.followed by use of antifungal talcum powder-like Candid powder.

Use multifunction ointment to rub it on the lesion.

If there is no relief, consult a dermatologist for oral medication.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
