What Causes A Deep Red Wound Oozing Clear Liquid?

Hi I have a deep laceration that I cleaned yellow skin off of it i ve applied anti biotic cream to it ad it has not improved. It drains a clear/amber color liquid out of it and it will drain enough fluid out to wet the top of sock. Wound is still red and very sore,don t know how to treat it.

Hello,

As per your description, it seems that there is a definite infection. As of now clean the wound with soap and water and apply topical antibiotics like mupirocin. If there is signs of infection antibiotics may be started.
