What Causes A Delayed Menstrual Period In Case Of PCOS?

I have PCOS and from age 14 had irregular periods. I am 24 now and for the last 5 months my period has been steady. My husband and I have been trying to concieve for 3 years. My period is now 2 days late, but I cant get a test until friday. Is it possible my period has gone back out of whack?
