What Causes A Delayed Menstrual Period?

Hi, had severe swelling the day before my period was supposed to start(swelling is normal for me), and mood swings on days one and two of missed period. Now it's day 5 and symptoms have subsided but still no period. Also I have been battling some sort of UTI that seems to be clearing on its own. My urine is not real sulfuric looking like it was a few months ago and the heavy pressure feeling when urinating is gone. Help??
