What Causes A Delayed Menstruation With Endometrium Thickening?

im 6 days delayed and my ob advised me to have ultrasound but the ultraspund says all is normal and thickened endometrium due to premenstrual phase..she advised me to take duphaston twice a day for 5 days? when will i get my period and why is my endometrium thickened?
