What Causes A Delayed Period Despite A Negative UPT?

My period was due today February 27th 2018 I was spotting on February 24th just early in the morning and there wasn t much to it I still haven t had my period and I m waiting but I had a negative pregnancy test yesterday February 26th should I wait and test again am I not pregnant what do I do

Hello and Welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

If your period is delayed for one week than test again with urine HCG card test. Before 7 days of delayed period card can give false negative result. If after weeks pregnancy negative than USG pelvis scan advisable and per speculum examination needed. Consult gynecologist for examination.
