What Causes A Delayed Period With Negative Pregnancy Test?

I am now a full week late of getting my period, with many pregnancy symptoms. Today I went to the local walk-in clinic and had a blood pregnancy test done. The results were negative. I am usually very regular with my periods, I can even pinpoint the time of day, even without the use of birthcontrol. What else could my lack of a period be?
