What Causes A Discharge From The Nipples?

My dad is 74 and has had nipple discharge. This is new and added to all his other illnesses....we re worried. He had his first stroke at 60. Had had open ❤️ Surgery 3 times. Had a combo implant / defibulater. He s a diabetic that doesn t care for him self. Still smokes. Is cold all the time and sweats often. This nipple dicharge Is the latest ....what could it be ? Breast cancer ?

It is possible , unfortunately, that it can be cancer but this would need to determined by testing.
Infection of the breast tissue or trauma can also cause blood to be seen.

He needs blood tests and may also need imaging of the breast as well. This may be done by ultrasound

Treatment would depend on the findings
