What Causes A Discharge From The Nipples?

Hello, So, I’ve been kind of getting a little worried lately! My one nipple keeps on leaking (but only when squeezed) this is from me doing some self eximination. Anyways, it’s only coming from one nipple although it’s just white and jusy some comes out. From the looks of it, it only comes out of one duct? But not 100% sure.... just from what I see. Should the be of any concern? My family doctor is on vacation and I’m very anxious to figure out what this issue is...? Could this be a sign of pregnancy? Infection? Cancer? I’ve always been feeling a little nausous lately and have been sleeping more then usual, but I’ve also had a little bit of added stress added onto my plate lately....

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

First of all if you have missed your period and think that you might be pregnant, then you should take a pregnancy test. Secondly, if there is a clean white discharge without any foul smell coming from one of your nipple, it can probably be due to increase in the hormone called prolactin. So I would suggest you to get a test done for the presence of prolactin hormone and consult your gynecologist.
