What Causes A Dry Itchy Rash On The Finger?

I have a rash on my ring finger and have tried corizone, bacatracin, aquaphor, with little results. I ve had it for a month, it gets itchy, and is extremely dry. I ve only worn my wedding ring on it for 50 years and it would seem weird that all of a sudden I developed an allergic reaction to it.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of dry itchy rash on the finger , Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like angiomas , seborrheic keratosis , allergic , eczema , psoriasis , warts , chickenpox or scabies.

It seems it is mainly it is due to dehydration. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult dermatologist for proper examination. Doctor may order blood test , allergy test along with skin patch test to confirm the diagnosis . Apply ice pack on finger to reduce swelling and itchiness .

Doctor may prescribe antibacterial or antiviral depending upon the diagnosis along with anti inflammatory , corticosteroid ointment , crotamiton or ivermectin . For now do not apply any cosmetic product and protect your skin from direct sunlight .
