Hello!
Welcome on HCM!
Regarding your concern, I would explain that a fast
heart rate (
tachycardia) may have several causes such as:
- anemia,
- acute inflammation/infection,
- certain pulmonary and cardiac disorders,
- hormone imbalances (thyroid, adrenal dysfunction),
- certain medications, etc.
As your medical exam and resting ECG have concluded normal, a cardiac disorder is generally excluded; nevertheless it is advisable a cardiac
ultrasound to assure that no subtle abnormalities of your cardiac structure are present.
In addition, thyroid hormones level should be checked.
Coming to your concern, pregnancy it may be associated with tachycardia, especially in its second and third period, that is when your uterus volume would have obviously increased coupled with an increased circulation blood volume.
Your
hormone therapy may also play a role in this regard (tachycardia).
You should know that such a therapy is associated with an increased risk of
venous thromboembolism.
I recommend consulting with your prescribing doctor on the above mentioned issues.
Hope to have been helpful to you!
Kind regards,
Dr Iliri
