Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Have a constant fullness in both ears. Left ear, all of a sudden has started buzzing at certain tone levels, like a broken speaker cone. Very annoying. Have had ringing in the ears for a few years (more like just a higher frequency tone) but it comes and goes and very seldom is a cause of any angst. But this crackling is bothersome. No pain associated with any of these symptoms.
Ear fullness accompanied by cold and flu-like symptoms is typically caused by a blocked Eustachian tube, which connects your ear to your throat and permits the drainage of fluid from your middle ear. and ringing in ears sometimes. One of the most common causes is noise-induced hearing loss. Other causes include: ear infections, disease of the heart or blood vessels, Meniere's disease, brain tumors, exposure to certain medications, a previous head injury and earwax. It is more common in those with depression.
Sorry to say but There are no medications as of now that are effective for tinnitus and, thus, none is recommended. Some studies suggest benzodiazepines (or any sleep medicines) usage if its due to depression.
