What Causes A Hard Bump At The Back Of The Head In A Child?

Hello My 6 year old son has a hard bump the size of a dime on the back of neck. I know its not a vertebrae because I can move it around. I took him to a doctor and he said it was just the vertebrae. It was never there until 2 weeks ago. He has had yellowish to clear stools. Just liquid for the last few days. Any help would be great. Thanks

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be a hematoma and is common in infants. Generally, it will settle by itself without any definite treatment. If the swelling persists better to consult a pediatrician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
