I have a hard knot under my chin on the left (best guess a swollen lymph node) but show no signs of cold or similar. Also, it is much harder and in a slightly different location than I notice lymph nodes when I'm sick. It is fairly large (about an inch to an inch and a half diameter) Is there any cause for concern with this or should I just ignore it until it goes away?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems to be a swollen lymph nodes and in case if you have any recent history of infections then it can be Reactionary lymph nodes caused secondary to infection while if it is long standing and not caused after any infection then it can be due to malignancy causing Lymphoma but it can be confirmed only after a biopsy or FNAC and treatment can be planned accordingly.. Infections can be treated with antibiotics while lymphoma can be treated with chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
Hope this information helps..
