Hi, I have a hard slightly moveable solid lump in front of my left tragus, been there as long as I can remember! I recently realised that its gotten bigger and it hurts a bit to touch. It almost feel like a gland but a lot more solid.. What can it be?

Hi dear ,

As per your query you have hard movable lump on ear particularly on tragus ,which is now getting bigger in size . The symptoms you mention in query are pointing towards a condition known as lipoma . A lipoma is a slow-growing, fatty lump that's most often situated between your skin and the underlying muscle layer. A lipoma isn't cancer and usually is harmless. Treatment generally isn't necessary, but if the lipoma is getting bigger as you mention in query or getting painful then it required proper treatment . I would suggest you to consult general surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may examine physically like consistency and tenderness to rule out condition like cyst . Doctor may also order biopsy . Doctor may consider surgical removal , steroid injection and liposuction .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
