What Causes A Hard Lump On The Thigh?

hi, i have a pea size hard lump on my inner thigh for several months, and at the first beginning, it felt a little itchy and now it is not itchy anymore but the color is getting darker, please tell me what should I do about it. is that can develop to cancer?

Age and gender are not mentioned.
However with the history given I am of the opinion that pea sized hard lump is a mole that you had it for several months, since the fact that you have noticed a change in its color it might have become a malignant (cancer) lump.
You need to be examined by a dermatologist to confirm the diagnosis and the treatment.
