What Causes A Hard Painful Spot Under The Foot After Injury?

Hi I stepped on nail around 6 months back.. i did not get a tetanus shot coz I had one 2,3 years back. I did not have any pain till now. But now suddenly the spot where the nail punctured has started paining when I walk. And the spot has become hard. And pains when I press it. Please help

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have formation of callus along with pain in the feet. Well treating painful calluses involves removing the cause of the pressure or friction and getting rid of the thickened skin. I would suggest you to consult podiatrist for proper examination . Doctor may trim a large corn with a scalpel , Doctor may also apply a patch containing 40 percent salicylic acid or doctor may suggest applying an antibiotic ointment . He/she may recommend shoe inserts or surgery in severe case.
