What Causes A Hard Round Lump In The Testicle?

Hi Dr Andrew, I have heard people say that a lump that is loose is normally benign and one that is immovable more likely to be malignant? I spesifically refer to a lump on a testical that feels as round as a marble and stone hard. We have walked a path with prostrate cancer 5 years ago, and felt this lump last night and I am now very concerned. Lee

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Any hard lump in the testicle with the past history of prostate cancer must not be neglected at all. You must require:
- Physical examination with urologist or general surgeon
- Ultrasound and Doppler evaluation of the both testicles
- MRI scrotum (depending upon results of above two)
- Testicular biopsy is matter of concern to avoid spread through needle track in many cases

However, if your rest of the reports are available, I can guide you further precisely in this matter.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
