What Causes A Hard Vein Like Thing In The Testicle?

i found have a hard vein like thing on my left testicle than runs down the middle of my actual testicle. I can sort of feel the same thing on my right testicle but not nearly as hard as the vein on the left one. It is firmly attached to the testicle itself and is not free floating, is this normal??
