What Causes A Jolt In The Heart While Exhaling?

When I lie down flat and exhale, I feel a jolt in my heart. It hurts badly. If I change position, I can exhale and everything is fine. It started about a year and a half ago. It now seems to happen more frequently. any suggestions on what it might be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It might be possibly related to muscular skeletal and pleural issues.

I advise to get a chest X-ray to observe changes and further consultation with your physician to exclude pulmonary problems.

You can take an oral pain killer and avoid laying at that particular position.

All the best!
