What Causes A Knot In The Area Of Plantar Fascitis Surgery?

i have had 2 surgies for plantar fascitis. Now I have a knot ini the area of my arch where the surgery was done. I'm being told it is a tumor from plantar fibromatosis. I am scheduled for surgery again in a few months. Does this surgery actually work, or is there recurring symptoms?
