What Causes A Large Bruise Under The Elbow?

Hi, I have had large bruise appear on my elbow for no reason - right over the joint. It s tender to touch, but other than that, no too painful. This is the third time in the last few months it has happened, and it is always gone 24 hours later. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, but can t find anything written about this. Do I nee to see someone about it? Many thanks

Hello,

Large bruise without reason in a patient with rheumatoid arthritis suggests possible disturbances in the coagulative pathway encouraging subcutaneous capillary bleed.

It is recommended to consult with your physician for detailed examination and a series of lab reports needed for the in-depth analysis and management ahead.

Till that time, avoiding any injury and sterile dressing with saline over the local part will help greatly.
