What Causes A Large Dark Bruise On The Arm Caused Due To An Injury?
My friend punched me in the arm as a joke, but I got a large bruise even though it wasn t that hard. It is on the upper part of my arm, where I believe the cephalic vein is. It looks like giant red pores all over and the bruise is brown and yellow. It is sore and there is some pain when I bend my arm or stretch it. It s been several days and I m not sure if it s getting better or worse.
Bruises occur as a damage to the small vessels under the skin. It is normal for the bruise to eventually turn yellow and it is also expected that pain would occur as a result of the trauma.
With trauma, the pain tends to increase to the maximum by day 2 to 3 then stabilizes for a few days then slowly decreases.
The use of an anti inflammatory pain killer should help with your pain and may also help the bruise to improve faster. This includes medications such as cataflam, naproxen, ibuprofen etc
I hope this helps
