What Causes A Large Lump On The Forehead With A Black Eye?

Two days ago my daughter hit her forehead and it swelled up. It was a large bump, but yesterday it went down. We were concerned because her right eye appeared to now look like a black eye, but her swelling was down and she had no other symptoms. However, today, when I came home from work the bump was back and large. I asked her if she hit her head again, and she said no. She seems fine, but I m concerned about this reappearance of the swelling.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

There is no specific root cause of Osteoma. Its a benign tumor of bone which can happen at any age and irrespective of any diet.

So I would suggest you go get a CAT scan head done to rule any deep invasions (which is very rare) and go ahead and remove it. If you have no cosmetic concern, then you can leave it as it is.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
