What Causes A Large Painful Knot At Back Of Head?
Hello,I have a fairly large and painful knot on the back of my head. I didn t hit my head or have any trauma don t to it. I was out and about today and when I got in the house after I took a nap I felt pain back there. When I touched it it was a very pain knot. What could be going on?

The knot at the back of your head might be a boil, which is infection of hair follicle, and is very painful to touch. but it can be an epidermoid cyst which is infected secondarily.
only a careful examination can confirm the diagnosis. if it is too painful you can take tablet brufen 400mg 1 tab with food 3 times a day, and visit your doctor to find out exact diagnosis.
