What Causes A Large Piece Of Bloody Mucus After Sniffing Hard?

I sniffed my nose quite hard and a luge piece of mucus and got in to my mouth and when i spit it on a tissue it had blood on it as well but the glob is rubbery in a sense can you tell me what this is as this happened last night aswell and i also have a cold

Hi, thanks for your query.
Whenever there is cold, there is congestion in the nose. This may cause bleeding from nose or even blood stained mucous discharge.
If I were your treating doctor, I would have prescribed decongestant nasal drops for 5 days along with a decongestant tablet.
This will reduce the congestion in the nose and also bloody mucous.
