What Causes A Large Swelling On The Waist?

I have a raised area, about the size of your fist, at my waist. It itches a lot. I have had welts/hives/?? about 4 other times before through the years. I have been through a very scary few days, feeling quite anxious. What do you think it might be?

Hello,

Your symptoms can be related to a contact dermatitis. A photo would be very helpful through the diagnosis. Meanwhile I suggest using an antihistamine such as Cetirizine 10 mg daily. I also suggest using Hydrocortisone cream for local application.
