What Causes A Little Bump Inside The Cheeks Close To Gums?

On the right side of my mouth on my cheek close to the top teeth where the vein is it is tender and there is a little bump that I can roll my finger over. The pain is constant but very dull. I've been experiencing this on and off for a couple months it doesn't last more then a day. I have recently started oil pulling with coconut oil and it helps, when I wake up in the morning the pain is gone.I just did an oral exam and this is where I noticed the vein and the bump, it does not match the left side. I plan to make an appointment with a dentist but will most likely have to wait 2 months to get in and I am feeling very anxious about this and freaking out.Thankyou for your time!

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your health concerns..

As per your complain a small bump in proximity with a vein can be:

1. A dilated tortuous vein..
2. A Mucocele.
3. A Hemangioma.

I would suggest you to consult an Oral Pathologist and get evaluated..

In case of Mucocele if it is recurring surgical removal has to be done..
In case of dialated vein or Hemangioma it can be treated using Sclerotherapy using Sclerosing agents like Sodium tetradecyl Sulphate can help in shrinkage of dialated veins..
At times Hemangiomas also require surgical treatment..

Hope this information helps and thanks for writing to Healthcare Magic..
