What Causes A Lump Around The Anus After Riding Bike?

about a week after riding a bike, I got a sore spot, and lump similar to a large zit, on my bottom between the base of my penis and my anus. It is not necessarily sore but it is irritating knowing it is there. Trying to look at it in a mirror, it appears red. It is in the fatty part of my bottom and unfortunately is irritated when I sit. More bike riding isn t a question. What do you think.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The bumps that you mentioned are also known as saddle sores. They are caused by heat, pressure and friction while riding your bike.

Because they can manifest in a variety of ways, there’s no exact science for treatment or prevention. But there are a few things that you can do.

Keep your sores clean. Quick rinses and hot showers soaps will help reduce bacteria.

For the time being you also need to rest the area. This means staying off the bike or cutting down the time spent on the bike.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
