What Causes A Lump Behind The Ear After A Surgery?

i had a mastoidectomy and tympanoplasty on 17th september 2012. It has healed nicely except one small area behind ear where it is a little lumpy and when pressure is applied a small amount of pus/watery substance comes out. Is this a sign of infection? It isnt a smelly substance. Smells kind of like antiseptic???

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello

Welcome in H.C.M.

I have gone through your query regarding an small lump behind your operated ear, this lump as you said is soft and on pressing it some fowl smelling fluid comes out. All these are indicative of infection at the site of infection.

My suggesstion is that you should consult your surgeon so that this costic lump may be drained out immidiately and to protect the operated ear.

Regards.
