I had a sore throat on the left side so i had a look inside my mouth when i noticed on the right side there appears to be a small lump. I don t know if this is normal or not as i ve never inspected inside my mouth before! Its painless and feels neither especially hard nor soft.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
.
The lump you notice in your throat is tonsil which is an organ for immunity & protection. It battles with infecting organism & so gets red & bit swollen. If there is no pain or fever don't worry. Keep on doing gargles, drink hot water. Avoid cold, sour or spicy things. On appearance of fever or pain in tonsil you need antibiotic. Please consult your family doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
