What Causes A Lump In The Armpit?

I had a bump under my armpit for a month or maybe even longer. About two days ago i noticed that from where the bump originated i have what i think or feels like is a hard noodled shaped object in my armpit going to my shoulder. If it means anything it is my left armpit. Any idea what it could mean? And the lump felt like(lack of better terms) a really mini doughnut shape.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello! Thank you for writing us here.
Well, its most probably a lymph node what you feel in your arm pit.
Its possible that the lymph nodes may get palpable and hard. You might be having some infection which the lymph node drained and prevented the further spread of infection.
It would be alright in few weeks though but also I would suggest you to visit a doctor for its biopsy as it could be because of some underlying malignancy.
Go for an ultrasound okay? It might give you why you have the swelling of lymph node.

Best regards,
Dr Gunjan
