What Causes A Lump In The Throat After A Whiplash Injury?
I got whiplash following a car accident. I had severe neck and left shoulder pain & headaches with some vomiting the following day. Pain did not subside for a few days after. Now a week later, I have a bump on my throat but it is off to the side. It moves up & down when I swallow. It is visible & if I had to describe it, you can see three bumps when I swallow (the top 2 have always been there and never have been even mentioned as a concern by any doctor so im pretty sure it s normal!) the bottom one is new though and it staggers off to the right. I have a long history of scoliosis - s curve to the right. Is this bump just a swollen lymph node or should I be concerned? After accident, visited ER. No tests performed. Just a visual observation and some prodding at my neck and shoulders. Thanks so much!
Hi Thanks for posting your query on HCM. I have read and understood your concern. The lump you describe may be a swolen lymph node.Since no other serious symptoms associated, i will advise you try an anti-inflammatory like aceclofenac and observe. If lump persists, you see the Doctor for examination. Hope this will help. You may write back if more concerns. Best regards
