Hi, I have just been for a 5/6 mile run and experienced a feeling like a lump in my throat, I also felt like my heart was beating a little fast. I experienced no pain, I slowed my pace down but the feeling remained, after an hour I still have the lump in throat feeling. I am 40 years old, I run regularly, I am not overweight and eat a healthy diet, I smoke a small amount, 7 or 8 a day. I am ex forces so ive allways been fit. Anything to worry about???
After running fast heartbeat is reflex mechanism and it is common
But if fast heart beat in normal resting position also then EKG investigation done for that along with blood pressure measurement
Second lump feeling in throat could be from tonsillitis
You can complete antibiotic course for that like amoxicillin plus clavulenic acid combination drug along with decongestant like phenylephrine for five days
Salt water gargle done three times a day
Steam inhalation useful
Drink more water
If no improvement in five days then consult otorhinolaryngologist for posterior pharynx examination and further work up accordingly
Hope your concern solved
