What Causes A Lump On An Injured Leg?

Five weeks ago I fell off my horse. While I was underneath him he stood on the inside of my lower leg. I still have a mark on my leg and and a hard lump underneath the point of impact. I had it x rayed and was told there was no break. But the skin is still numb to touch, the pain is better but still painful and the lump seems to be getting bigger. Should I go back to the hospital/doctor??

Hi,

If there was no/boney injury... the increasing lump on your leg suggests a hematoma due to soft tissue injury.

You should take rest/avoid movements with the leg. An ice pack or raising the foot up on a pillow would help... till you are an expert.

You should consult a surgeon for an exact diagnosis of type & soya of injury followed by specific management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
