Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes A Lump On Iris And Bleeding From Eyes?
I have had a small lump on the corner of my iris for years. Recently I have experienced some bleeding in my eye on two occasions and it appears this lump has increased in size. My eye is not sore nor do I experience any loss of vision. Should I be concerned?
It would be very helpful to see the lump you are referring to so I could have a better understanding of what it is and what should be done further.
As for the bleeding in the eye (from the outside), this is a very common finding. We call this subconjunctival hemorrhage, it is a benign event and needs no treatment most of the time.
Because you do not have pain, vision loss or other symptoms, very likely there is nothing to worry but I would suggest that you have a check for the lump in the iris with your doctor to determine its cause and significance.
I hope this answers your query and is helpful to you. Let me know if I may assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General and Family Physician
